Siftata

Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 10, 2026

Siftata is a photo-cleanup app that runs entirely on your iPhone. This policy explains, in plain terms, what Siftata does and doesn't do with your data. The short version: your photos stay on your device, and we never see them.

1. The short version

  • Siftata works entirely on your device. It has no account and no servers of its own.
  • Your photos are never uploaded, copied off your device, or analysed in the cloud.
  • Siftata works fully offline.
  • The only thing Siftata stores is a small amount of local bookkeeping data, described below.

2. Photo library access

To do its job, Siftata asks for permission to access your Apple Photos library. It uses this access only to show you your own photos so you can sort them, and to carry out the deletions you confirm. Siftata does not copy, back up, upload, or transmit your photos anywhere. You can review or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

3. What Siftata stores

Siftata keeps a small amount of lightweight metadata on your device so it can remember your progress. This includes things like:

  • a reference to which photos you've reviewed or kept;
  • which photos you've queued for deletion;
  • your last position in a sorting session and basic group progress.

This data lives only on your device and is removed when you delete the app. It never includes copies of your photos.

4. What Siftata doesn't do

  • No account, sign-in, or profile.
  • No uploading or cloud analysis of your photos.
  • No advertising, and no selling or sharing of personal data.
  • No third-party trackers or analytics SDKs.

5. Deleting photos

Siftata never deletes a photo on its own. When you swipe a photo to delete, it simply moves into Siftata's Trash — nothing is removed until you explicitly confirm. At that point Siftata asks iOS to move those photos into your system Recently Deleted album, where they remain recoverable for 30 days. You can restore any queued photo before confirming.

6. Diagnostics

Siftata does not run its own analytics. If you have turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymised crash and usage statistics with us through App Store Connect. This is controlled by Apple, is not tied to your identity, and never includes your photos.

7. Apple Watch & widgets

Siftata's Apple Watch app and home-screen widgets show the same local progress information and follow the same rules — everything stays on your devices.

8. Children's privacy

Siftata is not directed to children under 13. Because Siftata has no account and collects no personal information, there is nothing for us to knowingly collect from a child or anyone else.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the app.
