Frequently asked questions

Where are my photos stored?

On your device — always. Siftata works entirely on your iPhone and never uploads, copies, or analyses your photos in the cloud. It stores only a little local progress data. See our Privacy Policy for the details.

How does sorting work?

Siftata shows your photos one at a time, like a deck of cards. Swipe right to keep, swipe left to queue for deletion, and swipe up (or tap the info button) to see a photo's details. You can sort the whole library on Shuffle, or focus on a month, location, album, or your screenshots.

Will Siftata delete my photos automatically?

No. Deletion is always delayed and confirmed by you. Photos you swipe to delete move into Siftata's Trash and stay there until you tap to confirm. Only then does iOS move them to your Recently Deleted album, where they remain recoverable for 30 days.

I changed my mind — can I undo?

Yes. Siftata supports multi-step undo during a session, and anything you've queued for deletion can be restored from the Trash at any time before you confirm.

Does Siftata need an internet connection?

No. Siftata is offline-first and works without any network connection.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account, sign-in, or profile — you can start sorting the moment you grant photo access.

How do I remove my data?

Siftata only stores lightweight progress data on your device. Deleting the app removes it completely. Your photos are never touched by this — they live in Apple Photos, not in Siftata.

Does it work on Apple Watch?

Siftata includes an Apple Watch app and home-screen widgets that show your cleanup progress. They read the same on-device data and keep everything local.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Email us at contact@lnddev.com with steps to reproduce, your iPhone model and iOS version, the app version, and any relevant screenshots. Bug reports help us improve Siftata for everyone.
